Lemon Mascarpone Tartlettes

Those teeny tiny pie crusts became the most delicious morsels to come out of this kitchen in a while.

Yet, they were so easy to make!

I started with one of my most favorite dairy products.
Mascarpone (said with an Italian accent--Mas-car-po-nay)
Italian style cream cheese.
Just give me the tub and a spoon and I'm good.
Yum and double yum.

Paired with sweet, tart, citrusy lemon curd....

...it's a match made in dessert heaven.

The mixture of mascarpone cheese sweetened with lemon curd became the surprise in the middle of these tartlettes.

The mascarpone filling was topped with more lemon curd.

And to make them extra purty for the wedding they were garnished with candied lemon peel and a leaf of lemon balm.

Every person in the household had to taste test these mini delights and it was unanimous...

...amazingly, sinfully, ridiculously delicious.
