Field trip fun!

Kerri's class went to the Museum of Agriculture (which is a working experimental farm) on a school field trip. I volunteered to help out.

The class learned how to make ice cream the old fashioned way.

And everyone had several turns cranking the handle on the ice cream maker.

And they really enjoyed sampling the fruits of their labor!

We then toured the dairy farm, and saw milk being pumped and processed.

The kids did not like the smell, but they really liked the cows.

The cows were not impressed.

Then Kerri learned how to make butter the old fashioned way too. And she sampled it on crackers. More than once!

We then had a snack, and afterwards visited the chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats and lambs. Kerri got to spend a lot of time petting the baby goats and lambs, which was her favorite part of the trip. She bonded with an orphan lamb named "Rosie", who had been adopted by one of the lamb mamas. Kerri said, "She is just like me." And the farm employee wiped a tear away.

We had so much fun that I forgot to take more pictures! After all that excitement, Kerri still had the energy to go to Kung Fu. I wish I had her energy levels.

Life with Kerri is busy.
