The Mountains in Spring

A glorious spring day meant that tonight we took the first motorcycle ride of the season.

We haven't seen much of our mountain over the last five months or so. It's been hiding behind the clouds.

It has emerged this spring with a heavy covering of snow. There will be no drought this year! We look at that and see an ample water supply. We have the best and most delicious water in the world!

Comparing tonight's mountain view to the photo I took last October when I went on a birthday flight around the mountain...

...it's easy to see how it changes from season to season. The glaciers and rock, then laid bare after a summer of snow melt, are once again buried.

To the north, Washington's Mount Adams is similarly covered.
And the orchards are in full bloom.
