We don't do mornings.

Kerri and her Daddy are not morning people. Daddy goes to bed late and grudgingly gets up in the morning with just enough time to shower and dress. Kerri, on the other hand, is testing my patience.

Every night, we follow our routines. And she tosses and turns and refuses to fall asleep. It takes almost an hour for her to bore herself to dreamland. And in the morning, she is horrid. She does not want to get out of bed. She does not want to go to school. And I am the "worstest" Mommy in the whole wide world because I am nagging her to get up.

Once Kerri is dressed and downstairs, she is a totally different person. She is happy, and funny, and looking forward to her day. But that first half hour upstairs in her room is something I do not look forward to.

Life with Kerri requires patience.
