Ok, so it's 2 days until Mother's Day. Are you stumped for ideas for gifts for the special women in your kids' lives? You need something that's cute and you need it fast, right? And, let's not forget that it needs to be affordable!
Here's an idea for a super inexpensive, but very sentimental craft project that you still have time to have done by Sunday!
Here's what you need:
- 1 White Bathroom/Kitchen Tile ( I used 6x8 tiles that I found at Lowes for .58 cents each, but any size you want would work)
- A few different colors of acrylic paint. I used acrylic because it was kid friendly and cleaned up easily with soap and water, while still being permanent enough to use with the tiles. (Each bottle of acrylic paint that I picked up at Michaels was $2.49 each)
- 1 Decorative Plate Holder (Our local dollar store has the 9" plate holders that I used in silver, gold, and black finishes. And, yep, they're just $1.00! )
- Some paintbrushes
Use your creativity to make any design on your tile to tell Mom, Grandmom, God Mother, Aunts, etc. how much you love them this Mother's Day. I used my older daughter's handprint and my younger daughter's footprint, but their are a million ways to decorate the tile. You could stamp them, stencil them, have the kids paint on them, use sayings or verses ...... the options are endless.
We made 6 different tiles and they dried in no time. They look ADORABLE on their plate stand sitting on a kitchen table, a shelf, or a mantle!
Have fun.
